Frequently asked questions
How do I open a file or folder?
Choose File ▸ Open… (⌘O) to open a Markdown file, or open a whole folder to browse and edit a project from the sidebar. Recent files and folders are restored automatically next time you launch.
How do I customise the preview?
Open Settings ▸ Preview (⌘,) to pick a theme — System, Sepia, High Contrast or Dark — or add your own custom CSS. You can set the default view (editor, preview or split) under Settings ▸ General.
Can I export my documents?
Yes. Use File ▸ Export to save a polished PDF or clean, self-contained HTML file with your chosen theme applied.
Does Glassmark work fully offline?
Completely. Syntax highlighting, math and diagrams are rendered on-device from assets bundled in the app — nothing is fetched from the internet. The Mac App Store build makes no network requests at all; the direct-download build can optionally check GitHub for updates on launch (toggle in Settings).
Which macOS versions are supported?
Glassmark runs on macOS 15 (Sequoia) and later as a universal app, native on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email [email protected] or open an issue on GitHub. To help us reproduce it quickly, please include your macOS version, your Glassmark version (Glassmark ▸ About Glassmark), and a short description of what you expected versus what happened.
Is my data private?
Yes — your documents stay on your Mac and Glassmark collects no data. For the full details, see our privacy policy.
